The Gap in Coaching: Nobody Teaches the Breath
You train movement, mobility, recovery, and strength. But most athletes are still over-breathing, bracing poorly, or losing power under fatigue—and no one is coaching it. The Certified Breath Training Coach (CBTC) program teaches you to coach the breath like any other skill: with structure, feedback, and transfer to performance.
“Train the breath like you train strength.”
I've Been There
I owned a gym for six years. I was a certified strength and conditioning coach, working with athletes every day. I could help them get stronger, faster, and more resilient—but there were certain limitations I kept hitting that I just couldn't fix.
Athletes would plateau. They'd struggle with recovery. They'd lose focus under pressure. I knew something was missing, but I couldn't put my finger on what it was.
Then I discovered that breathing was the foundational piece I'd been overlooking.
Once I started addressing breathing patterns in my athletes, everything changed. Their performance took off. Recovery improved. Mental toughness increased. It was such a game-changer that I sold my gym to dedicate my life to helping other coaches learn how to coach the breath properly.
"I've walked in your shoes. I know what it's like to feel like you're missing something crucial in your coaching toolkit."

The ABC Method™: Awareness. Bracing. Conditioning.
The ABC Method™ is the foundation of our system. It gives coaches a step-by-step framework for assessing and improving breathing in athletes at any level.
Awareness
Teach athletes to recognize their breathing patterns as the foundation for improvement. Breath awareness reveals energy output, stress levels, and current mindset.
Bracing
Learn how to coach diaphragmatic control, intra-abdominal pressure, and efficient breath mechanics under load.
Conditioning
Build athletes' CO₂ tolerance, recovery capacity, and respiratory strength using proven training protocols. Conditioning both their respiratory system and resilience to stress.
This isn't just breathwork. It's breath training—with reps, structure, and results.
Finally, All Breathing Schools Under One Roof
There are dozens of breathing approaches out there—nasal breathing methods, diaphragmatic training, respiratory muscle strengthening, CO₂ tolerance protocols, and performance-focused techniques. Each has merit, but they exist in silos.
Most coaches get overwhelmed trying to piece together scattered information from different schools of thought. The result? Confusion, inconsistency, and athletes who never get the full benefit of breath training.
CBTC solves this problem.
We've taken the best from every major breathing methodology and organized it into a single, coach-friendly system. You get the science, the application, and the progression—all in one certification that actually makes sense for real coaching situations.
Coach Breathing with Precision and Confidence
You'll walk away ready to assess, cue, and integrate breath into every aspect of training—from warm-up to max effort, recovery to mobility.

FAQs
Why do we need to train breathing in the first place?
Most athletes breathe inefficiently, limiting their performance, recovery, and mental resilience. Poor breathing patterns create unnecessary fatigue, reduce power output, and increase stress responses. Training breathing properly unlocks athletic potential that traditional coaching methods can't access.

How long does the certification take?
The CBTC certification takes up to 12 weeks, but you can work through the material at your own pace while following an interactive example training plan for the entire 12 weeks. This gives you hands-on experience applying what you learn in real-time.
Is this only for elite athletes?
No. The ABC Method™ scales to any level of athlete, from youth sports to professional. You'll learn to adapt techniques for different populations and competitive levels.
Do I need prior breathwork experience?
No prior breathwork experience is required. This certification is built for coaches who understand training principles and want to add breath training to their toolkit.
Is this recognized by other certifying bodies?
CBTC is a specialized certification from Athlete Breath Coaching. We provide a detailed syllabus and core tenets that coaches can use to apply for CEUs (Continuing Education Units) with their existing certifying bodies like NSCA, ACSM, and other major organizations.
Will I get ongoing support?
Yes. Certified coaches gain access to our private community, monthly Q&A sessions, and continuing education resources to stay current with best practices.
